The NSS Unit at NEC has organized the World Environment Day celebrations on the 5th of June on the campus premises. Like every year, this time too, over 90 students participated in the Poster Presentation and Essay Writing Competitions on the topic “Only One Earth” which is the theme of this year. It was the students’ active participation that made the event a grand success.
Honorable Principal Dr.M.Sreenivasa Kumar addressed the students on the importance of the day, urging the students to act responsibly in protecting the environment and make sure to provide a better version of it to the coming generations. Further, he guided the students against the consumption of plastic usage. At the front of the action, he reminded the students about the importance of soil, asking them to participate in the Save Soil Movement which is organized by ISHA Foundation. ‘Save Soil’ is an effort initiated to gain at least 60% of the world’s population’s support in benefitting nature through long-term government policies.
Our Hon’ble Chairman Sri. Mittapalli Venkata Koteswara Rao Garu, Vice Chairman Sri.M.Chakri Garu, and Secretary Sri.M.Ramesh Babu appreciated the NSS Program Officer I.Sridhar, co-ordinators and NSS volunteers for making this program a fruitful one.
