Dr K Ponnari Lakshmi

Prof. Dr. K Ponnari Lakshmi is an academician and a renowned professor of English. She is the head of Basic Sciences and Humanities branch. She is also the Dean of Student Affairs at NEC. As a professional, she has 22 years of experience with vital contributions in academics through her specialization in literature, and adaptability to diverse teaching settings. Her expertise in curriculum development along with strategic planning has constantly assisted NEC in brainstorming its future endeavors. The head of department’s consistent efforts reflects in the overall success of Basic Sciences and Humanities. Her educational versatility echoes in her research papers that have been published by various international journals. She has also been the editor for many Canadian and Indonesian journals.

As the Dean of Student Affairs, her work is currently focused on developing campus regulations for students; dealing with student behavioral problems in a fair and effective manner. She is the point of contact for matters concerning inappropriate student behavior and student conflicts on campus. Through her cordial relations with all student groups, she aims to impart the values of personal integrity, honesty, and tolerance.
