The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) at Narasaraopeta Engineering College (Autonomous), Narasaraopet, successfully organized a hands-on training workshop on “Designing Solar PV Systems” for second- and third-year B.Tech EEE students. The event was held from February 13 to February 20, 2025, in collaboration with Greenvion Energy Technologies, Hyderabad. Mr. K. Purushotham Chary served as the resource person for the workshop.
The training covered a wide range of topics, equipping students with practical knowledge and skills in designing solar PV systems.
The workshop included the following sessions:
- Current Energy Scenario in India
- Introduction to Solar PV
- Components of a Solar PV System
- Designing a Standalone System
- Financial Analysis
- Practical Sessions, including:
- Identifying and measuring V-I characteristics of a solar photovoltaic module
- Series and parallel connections of a photovoltaic module
- Effect of sun tracking on energy generation
- Tilt angles and azimuth angles
- Assessing the output performance and environmental impacts on SPV modules, including factors such as dust and rainy conditions
The workshop provided students with valuable hands-on experience, enhancing their understanding of solar PV technology and its applications.
