In a milestone achievement, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Narasaraopeta Engineering College organised a One Week Faculty Development Programme on “DESIGN AND MANUFACTURING ON 3D EXPERIENCE PLATFORM” from 19th to 23rd November 2019.
The program was conducted by Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation (APSSDC) in association with the much-hailed French software company Dassault Systemes, known for their flagship products CATIA and SolidWorks.
The program was part of the series of workshops conducted by the NEC aimed at bridging the gap between industry and academic institutions and to be on-par with what’s happening at the best technical colleges across the globe.
Speaking on the occasion, N Venkanna Babu of Dassault SPOC said that this kind of workshops make students industry-ready and are crucial for the state of Andhra Pradesh which is in acute shortage of manufacturing power.
Further, he congratulated the NEC administration and APSSDC officials for installing Dassault Systemes’ groundbreaking software worth 32 lakhs.
Further, Akash Prasad was inducted into the NEC family to train students in these technologies by making him a permanent faculty in the lab.
NEC Principal Dr. M. Sreenivasa Kumar was overwhelmed by the response of the faculty members. He said that ” It’s a proud moment for NEC that APSSDC has found Institute apt for the software installations”
Further, he added “By teaching these latest technologies to faculty members, it ensures that students will get the best out of the teachers”
Dr. D. Suneel, HOD, Dept. of Mech informed that a total of 40 faculty members participated in the workshop training.
Lastly, NEC Vice-Chairman M. Chakravarthi conveyed his best regards towards APSSDC’s 32 Lakhs contribution for the development of the institute on the technological front.
He said” Many colleges would have backed off from this kind of big steps. However, our administration has been adamant in adapting to new technical horizons and that’s what we did! Kudos to everyone behind this milestone collaboration.“
He highlighted the fact that this is the first of its kind lab installation in Andhra Pradesh.
