Narasaraopeta Engineering College (NEC), located in the district of Guntur in Andhra Pradesh, is creating a plethora of opportunities for the students in the region. To this end, the institution has a dedicated incubation center called “Startup NEC,” where students can build their entrepreneurial journey from the scratch.
In order to accustom students to the latest technologies, Narasaraopeta Engineering College has signed MOUs with foreign technical universities such as the Oracle University, USA.
At the core of Narasaraopeta Engineering College’s success story is its Vice-Chairman and Director, MR Chakravarthi Mittapalli studied Bachelors of Engineering (BE) from SRM University, Chennai, and Masters of Science in Computers in the USA. Established an IT consulting company and lived for 14 years over there in the USA successfully. Later, He returned to India and took up the responsibility as Vice-Chairman/Director of Narasaraopeta Engineering College, with a vision to lead a technological transformation in the district of Guntur and the rest of Andhra Pradesh.
One of the notable works to achieve that transformation is the college’s advancements in renewable energy. Narasaraopeta Engineering College found unique ways to harness the power of renewable energy resources and has created enormous opportunities in the area of research and development of the same. Its students have led multiple innovations in alternative energy. A few examples of such innovations are live projects such as solar cars.
Innovations in other disciplines include, but aren’t limited to, All-Terrain Vehicles and coconut de-husking machines. The educational institution has also started a branch of the E-Yatra robotics center (mentored by IIT-Bombay) on its campus.
Narasaraopeta Engineering College’s computer science and engineering student, Venkata Ramakrishna Teja, secured 66th position in the Civil Services exam, which is among the topmost ranks. He was felicitated by the college management and Chairman MR Mittapalli Koteswara Rao. Ramakrishna Teja, a native of Chilakaluripet, Guntur, had completed his Computer Science Engineering from the college in 2009.
