Anti-Ragging Program at Narasaraopeta Engineering College | Safe Campus Initiative

An Anti-Ragging program was organized in Narasaraopeta Engineering College on 12th August 2024 to prevent and address instances of ragging, which is a form of harassment or bullying often directed at new students by seniors.

These programs typically aim to create a safe and supportive environment for all students. Here are some common components of such programs.

  • Awareness Campaigns.

Workshops and Seminars: Conducted sessions to educate students about the negative impacts of ragging and the legal consequences.

Information Dissemination: Distribute pamphlets, posters, and digital content about anti-ragging policies and resources.

  • Training Programs.

Faculty and Staff Training: Trained the teachers and administrative staff to recognize and address ragging.

Student Orientation: Anti-Ragging information in the orientation programs for new students.

  • Monitoring and Enforcement.

Surveillance and Reporting Mechanisms: Implemented the monitoring system and encourages students to report any incidents.

Disciplinary Actions: Enforced disciplinary measures against those found guilty of ragging.

  • Peer Support.

Peer Mentors: Assigned senior students as mentors to new students to foster a supportive environment and prevent ragging.

Sri  Ch. Kishore SI – Palnadu District, Chairman, Principal, Dean of Student’s Welfare, judged these competitions and also registered their presence.

To create awareness among students, some competitions were kept for students to participate and educate them. The event included:
